Winterton-On-Sea Beach looking north
The beach at Winterton-On-Sea is truly one of the jewels of the Norfolk coast.

The wide and gently sloping sandy beach is ideal for picnics, sandcastles or just relaxing.
Food, drink and beach supplies are available at the cafe and there is a large car park for easy parking. Everything you need for a great day out!

Like many coastal villages on the East Coast, Winterton-On-Sea has suffered some coastal erosion. As a result the Coastguard Watch Tower has been repositioned further inland on the dunes. This is manned by volunteers who will also welcome you to view the many old photographs on display of Winterton-On-Sea and its inhabitants.

The dunes behind and to the North of the village are a site of Special Scientific Interest and host a variety of flora and fauna. This vast area is a delight for bird watchers and nature lovers and those enjoying a brisk walk could discover the pools that provide a breeding site for the rare Natterjack Toad.
